THE PROBLEM WITH HOOKS

A bungee is a hook on a rubber band. It scratches your tank, it fires back at your face, and it goes slack the moment your load settles. A ratchet strap has no give, so it either crushes the bag or works loose on corrugations. ROK is the third option: a flat webbing strap with a short elastic section, loop ends instead of hooks and a quick-release buckle. It stretches enough to hold, never enough to let go.

A NOTE FROM THE FOUNDER

HI, I'M GARY. I MADE THIS.

I am an engineer from Queensland. At university I was studying eye injuries, and one number would not leave me alone: how many people lose an eye to a bungee cord. A metal hook on a rubber band, pulled tight, aimed at your face. That is a stupid way to build a strap, so I built a different one.

A solid rubber core inside a tight nylon braid, so it stretches but barely recoils. Loops instead of hooks. A buckle you can open with gloves on. I patented it, built it to military specifications, and tested it the only way I trust: on my own bike, on the dirt roads that made me want to ride in the first place. That was 1996. Thirty years on, the same strap ships to riders in 25+ countries, and I still use the first design.

QUESTIONS RIDERS ASK

Which one do I need?

Motorcycle Straps (25 mm): Built for the main load on a motorcycle or ATV. Wide enough to hug a 60 L duffel without cutting in, long enough to reach across a tail rack, rated 45 kg per strap. If it's the bag you'd be lost without, this is the strap that holds it.

Pack Straps (16 mm): The strap you keep in a pocket. Half the weight, the same stretch, a slimmer buckle that fits bicycle racks, backpacks and scooter hooks. For jackets, tents, dry bags and the second helmet. Riders, cyclists and hikers carry these because they weigh 93 g a pair and fix anything.

Short version: Big bag on a bike: 25 mm. Anything else, or anything not a bike: 16 mm. Most riders run one pair of each.

Where do you ship from and how fast?

US orders ship from our US warehouse. EU and UK orders ship from our warehouse in the Netherlands, with VAT included at checkout so there are no surprises on delivery. Typical delivery is 2 to 5 business days. Prices show in USD or EUR depending on your location; use the country selector to switch.

Do they scratch paint or plastics?

No. There are no hooks. The loop end is soft webbing and the buckle sits on top of your load, not against the bike.

What if they do not fit my bike?

Return them unused within 30 days for a full refund. Contact us first and we will send a label.
